In 1984, the company started as Seberang Securities Sdn. Bhd. Four years later, the name was changed to Mercury Securities Sdn. Bhd. and the principal office was opened in Butterworth, Penang. Mercury Securities acquired the business and licence of PTB Securities Sd. Bhd. and was authorised to open branches throughout Malaysia in response to the Securities Commission’s call for stockbroking businesses to be consolidated.

What is the process of opening a Mercury StraightThru account?

To use Mercury Online Services to trade online, you must have the following:

• Online Agreement and Trading Account

You can obtain a copy of the form above by visiting their website. Fill out the forms, have them witnessed by an Advocate/ Solicitor or a Notary Public, and return them to them.

• Central Depository System (CDS) Account

You may request that Mercury mail you a CDS account application form. You must complete and have witnessed it by an Advocate/ Solicitor or a Notary Public before returning it to us. Alternatively, you can ask Mercury to register a nominees qualification account for you within their Nominees Companies category.

Their Dealer will contact you to schedule an appointment to finalise the opening trading account documentation, which must be verified by dealer representatives or authorised by Mercury Securities Sdn.Bhd officer. It takes about 2-3 working days to process your account if there are no issues with your documents.
