I am not a Malaysian. Is it possible for me to purchase the plan?

All Malaysians, Permanent Residents, Student Pass Holders or Employment Pass Holders/Work Permit Holders legally employed in Malaysia, and their spouse and children can purchase this plan.

What are the types of product they have for travel insurance?

They have two types of product for travel insurance which are SOMPO Travel Plus and SOMPO TravelSafe.

Eligible age for the plan?

People aged between 30 days and 80 years old are eligible for the plan.

What is the period of the coverage?

Sompo Travel Plus

• • Single Trip Plan

Coverage can last anywhere from a single day to a maximum of 120 days.

• • Annual Plan

The policy covers you for a year and allows you to take an unlimited number of trips during that time. The maximum number of days that can be spent on a Trip is 180. Your policy must be renewed every year.

Sompo TravelSafe

This is a single trip policy. Coverage can last anywhere from one day to a maximum of 120 days. This policy will not be renewed.

Is it possible for me to make a nomination for this plan?

If unfortunate events which we hope doesn’t happen such as death due to accident or permanent disablement due to accident occur, the insured’s child or spouse will receive the payout.

What is the procedure for cancelling my coverage and receiving a refund of the premium paid?

Sompo Travel Plus

You may cancel your Policy by sending them a written notice. For Single Trip Plan, once the policy is issued, there are no refunds of premiums. However, for Annual Plan, if no claims are filed during the insurance period, the payment will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.

Sompo TravelSafe

You can cancel your Policy by sending them a written notice. However, once the policy is issued, there is no way to get your money back.

What are the policy’s general exclusions?

• Both TravelSafe and Travel Plus policies does not cover losses that are specifically excluded, such as pre-existing illnesses, suicide or attempted suicide, intentional self-injury, and being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, among other things.
• Both TravelSafe and Travel Plus policies does not cover any loss, injury, illness, damage, or legal liability resulting directly or indirectly from travel to, from, or through Belarus, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Crimea (including Sevastopol), or Zimbabwe.
