Eligible age for the plan?

The eligible age for the plan is as below:

Single Trip Children Travelling With Family

Individual coverage – between 18 and 79 years old to be eligible.

Family coverage – between 30 days and 18 years old, or up to 23 years old if he or she is still studying in a recognized college or university.

Per Child – between 30 days and 23 years of age

When is the period of the coverage?

The maximum period of coverage is 190 days.

Is it possible for me to make a nomination for this plan?

Yes. You can make a nomination or a representative you appoint. In the event of your death, benefits will be paid to your nominee or duly appointed representative.

If I’m holding a one-way ticket, am I eligible to purchase this plan?

Yes. Travel insurance (overseas) only applies to those who are emigrating or going abroad for education. Meanwhile, for travel insurance (domestic), the coverage will end when the person arrives at the Common Carrier station or terminal of the final Domestic destination.

What is the procedure for canceling my coverage and receiving a refund of the premium paid?

  • Single Trip Policy – There is no refund of any premiums paid once this Policy has been issued.
  • Annual Policy – You may also cancel the Policy at any time by giving Us seven (7) days’ notice in writing

SmartTraveller Easy (Annual & Single Trip) – Overseas

This product primarily covers Personal Accidents, Medical, Hospital, and Treatment Expenses, as well as Expenses Incurred Due to Travel Inconveniences During the Trip.

SmartTraveller Easy Single Trip (Domestic)

Personal Accidents, Medical and Hospital Expenses in the event of injuries, disability, or death caused solely by violent, accidental, external, and visible causes, as well as expenses incurred due to travel inconveniences during the trip.

Jom Lokal Travel (Domestic Overland)

Personal Accidents and Permanent Disablement, Medical Expenses Due to Accidents, Repatriation of Mortal Remains, credit card/e-wallet protection, and journey disruptions due to vehicle breakdown are the main features of this product.

How do I make a claim for AXA Travel insurance?

The claim for travel insurance can be divided into two (2) categories:

Travel delay / Misconnection / Re-route / Overbooked / Baggage & Personal Belongings / Trip cancellation or Loss of Deposit / Trip Curtailment

  1. Download the e-Claim SmartTraveller-travel-e-claim form (from the AXA website)
  2. Prepare the supporting claim documents listed in the form and complete the required details
  3. Email the e-claim form and supporting claim documents to claims@axa.com.my
  4. AXA will contact you via email within 5 working days
  5. E-claim payment within 7 working days from your claim approval date
  6. Do take note that you must submit your claims within 45 days upon return to Malaysia
