I am not a Malaysian. Is it possible for me to purchase this plan?

If you are a non-Malaysian who has a permanent resident status, valid work permit, valid student permit or Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) status, you are eligible to purchase this plan.

Eligible age for the plan?

  • If you are covered under Individual Cover, Individual and Spouse Cover or Family Cover, you must be between thirty (30) days old to seventy (70) years old;
  • If you are covered under Senior Cover, you must be between seventy-one (71) to eighty-five (85) years old;
  • If you are the Child covered under Family Cover, you must be between thirty (30) days old to seventeen (17) years old, or twenty-three (23) years old if studying as a full-time student at the commencement of the journey; and
  • If you are covered under Annual Trip, you must be between thirty (30) days old to seventy (70) years old. For Annual Trip, your certificate can be renewed up to eighty-five (85) years old.

If I’m holding a one-way ticket, am I eligible to purchase this plan?

Yes, you are eligible to purchase the plan.

What is the procedure for cancelling my coverage and receiving a refund of the premium paid?

  • Single Trip and One-Way Trip – after the Certificate Schedule has been provided, no cancellations are permitted.
  • Annual Trip – The Certificate Holder may cancel the Certificate at any time, in which case they will retain the customary short-term rates for the time the certificate was in effect, provided no claim has been or will be submitted by you (please refer to the certificate wording for the short-term rates).

Is it possible for me to make a nomination for the plan?

The procedure of the Certificate Holder appointing individual(s) to receive takaful benefits in the case of the Person Covered’s death at any time after the Certificate Schedule has been issued is referred to as nomination. The Certificate Holder may revoke the nomination at any time within the takaful tenure, and it will only take effect from the date they receive the written notice.

The individual designated to receive takaful benefits, either as beneficiary (intended receiver) or as wasi, is referred to as a nominee (executor).
The takaful advantages will be delivered to the nominee as beneficiary via a conditional hibah contract, and the takaful proceeds under this Certificate Schedule will be exempt from inheritance laws.

The nominee for Wasi must be eighteen (18) years old, will receive takaful benefits as administrator, and will be responsible for distributing the takaful benefits in line with Islamic law of inheritance (faraid) or the Distribution Act.
The Islamic Financial Services Act of 2013 will govern the payment of takaful benefits.

What are some of the policy’s general exclusions?

This product does not cover:

  • War or any act of War, declared or not;
  • Direct participation in strikes, riots and civil commotion or insurrection;
  • You, your travel companion’s, family member’s provoked murder or assault, intentional self-injury, suicide or attempted suicide while sane or insane;
  • You, your travel companion’s, family member’s deliberate exposure to exceptional danger (except in an attempt to save human life);
  • If one (1) of the reasons of your journey is to obtain overseas medical treatment, vaccination, medical check-up, care or advice regardless of whether this is the sole or main purpose of your journey;
  • Pre-existing condition (not applicable to Benefit 7);
  • Epidemic and/or pandemic (not applicable to Benefits 8, 9 and 10);
  • Act of terrorism (not applicable to Benefits 8, 9, 10, 11 and 25);
  • An incident or circumstance of which you were aware of or could reasonably be expected to be aware of at the time of purchasing this insurance or booked your travel (whichever occurs last) and which could reasonably be expected to lead to a claim under your policy;
  • You do not take precaution to avoid a claim after there was a warning in the mass media of a strike, riot, bad weather or other circumstances;
  • any circumstances that already existed or are known to the public before you book your travel; and
  • mountaineering or any activity above three thousand (3,000) meters height (not applicable to Benefit 25);

How much do I have to pay for Z-Travel Takaful (International) insurance?

How do I make a claim for Z-Travel Takaful (International)?

  1. Make a police report within 24 hours for the following types of claims*
    • Incidents where there is evidence of a criminal act
    • Involving foreign workers’ compensation due to fatal/motor accidents, (loss of) money, personal accident or public liability
  2. Prepare all required supporting documents. If you are not sure, do contact Zurich customer service.
  3. Submit your claim online OR head over to any of the Zurich General Insurance branches with completed claim form OR talk to your respective servicing agent.
